Background to Creative Minds Childminding

Changes in my employment circumstances in 2020 allowed me to re-focus my career aspirations to pursue a long standing desire to be involved in childcare. At the start of the Coronavirus pandemic I stopped working to focus on childcare for my then 5 year old son which included home schooling for the first couple of months of 2021. As we began to come out of the pandemic, I decided to focus my future career aspirations on providing a flexible childcare service for the local community. As part of my preparations for this I successfully completed the SCMA’s Induction to Childminding – Level 2 course and also completed the St Andrews Baby and Child First Aid course. I completed my registration with the Care Inspectorate in June 2021. My first inspection by the Care Inspectorate took place in June 2022 and my service was graded Good in all areas.   

The service operates from my family home which is a Bungalow in a quiet area of Galston. Children have access to a dedicated playroom as well as living room area, kitchen, hall and dedicated toilet. Outside there is an enclosed garden for safe outside play.
